The film tries to capture the trauma of a mute girl who witnesses a gruesome murder on the beach.

A crotchety old man finds a little boy squatting by his flowerbed. Presuming that the boy is plucking flowers, he reprimands him. But as he drives off in a huff, he himself breaks a couple of flowerpots. The little boy gives the old man an annoyed look and resumes his activity – replanting an uprooted sapling in the flowerbed.

The filmmaker employs animation to drive home the point that money can destroy the best of relationships. The film shows two fountain pens sketching a beautiful landscape. While one pen draws the trunk of a tree, the other adds the leaves. One draws the sun, the other, the rays. They work in tandem until one of them draws a pot of gold . . . .

Three friends arrive at a farmhouse for the weekend. Sitting under the starry skies, their friendly banter over drinks, gradually takes on communal undertones. As this gives way to violence, the green and orange marigold flowers on the farm begin to loose colour. The mute farm-hand intervenes and is accidentally hit on the head. As he falls to the ground, he sees the faces of the boys take on the hues, which define their religious loyalties – the orange and green from the faded flowers.

When a mute estate-hand gets married to young beautiful girl, his master, a retired army major, is very generous and even gives the bride his dead wife’s favorite sari. This leads to a series of events which shatter the silent dreams of the newly married couple.

Much to her horror, a mother inadvertently sees her son preening in front of a mirror in a sari. Is she responsible for his cross-dressing predilections? Is he gay? Is he abnormal? She asks as her son walks out of the house.
